Talk: Databases, Containers, and the Cloud
Enterprise computing traditionally happened in single-company data centers, but with the rise of containers and cloud computing, more flexible and cost-effective computing options are now available. This talk explains how databases can make the best use of these new computing options. While some container/cloud features aren't very useful for databases, others can be used to automate database deployments and greatly simplify infrastructure requirements. Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud computing can speed database deployment, simplify backups, automate fail-over, increase scalability, and enhance monitoring.
